I’ve found in life that it may hurt you, or someone else temporarily but no matter what honesty should be you’re highest priority as far as morals go.
I am by far not perfect in this aspect, but I try my best.
However, even with that flaw, people who know me typically believe me because of how ridiculously honest I can be sometimes, I usually end up making people mad. For others, it’s hard for them to believe that Im being honest. I find that sad, I know that’s caused due to the massive amounts of dishonest people in the world which makes it harder for people to believe the truth. Could you imagine the effect it would have if even the smallest fraction of people in this world were honest every chance they got?
White lies even have an effect that most don’t realize. Even the smallest lies will cause a snowball effect and then the next thing you know, it’s a massive lie and more than likely people are getting hurt.
I challenge you. The next time the opportunity arises, and you have the opportunity to either lie or tell the truth, buck up and chose the truth. It may hurt someone but if you really mean that much to them then they will get over it. I know this for a fact. My best friend and I get in fights where we don’t talk for weeks/months, you know why? Because of my honesty, and my willingness to share my thoughts. BUT at the end of the day, we are there for each other. We eventually get over it.
Challenge yourself! Let me know how it goes.
Also, name a time where you were completely honest when you didn’t have to be, how did it work out for you?
